![]() We have the perfect combination of experienced, passionate, and skilled developers to fully realize this game’s ambitious potential. We’ve built a spectacular team at Intercept Games – a team that includes, as previously mentioned, key members from the development team behind the original Kerbal Space Program. We remain focused on making sure KSP2 performs well on a variety of hardware, has amazing graphics, and is rich with content. We are building a game of tremendous technological complexity, and are taking this additional time to ensure we hit the quality and level of polish it deserves. We have made the difficult decision to move the release date of KSP 2, which will now launch in early 2023 on PC with our console release later that year. Hi everyone – this is Nate Simpson, Creative Director for Kerbal Space Program 2. The following was posted to the Kerbal Space Program forums: On Monday, hours ahead of Take Two Interactive's Q4 2022 earnings results, Creative Director Nate Simpson announced that KSP2 would be delayed once again, this time to 2023. Unfortunately, the Kerbals have hit another snag, as they do, in attempting to breach the gaming atmosphere. With the game being pushed back to 2023 the fans of the loved space sim game have to wait longer for the next installment of the game.It was looking for a while like Kerbal Space Program 2 would be ready for launch in 2022. May is slowly becoming the month marked by delays, as today, less than a week after announcing delays for both Redfall and Starfield, Dying Light 2s first big narrative DLC Stay Human, it has just been announced that Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to everyone’s favorite space-travel simulator, has been delayed until 2023. It’s this transition along with the COVID-19 pandemic and the overall complexity of the spaceflight simulation, that has resulted in multiple delays for the game according to developers. That team was swapped out for Intercept Games the same year. The sequel was announced in 2019, with Star Theory Games (formerly Uber Entertainment) charged with development. The original Kerbal Space Program was designed by Squad, an unconventional international team headquartered in Mexico City, only to be acquired by Take Two in 2017. While KSP 2 might have been delayed, Private Label is stepping up its development of other titles in a recent announcement, Private Label announced four new publishing partners. When KSP 2 was announced in 2019, it was set to be released in Spring 2020 but has been delayed three times since and has effectively been handed off to a brand-new developer from Star Theory Games, who took the series over from the original Kerbal studio Squad, to Intercept Games, a unit within Take-Twos private label, that was created expressly for the purpose of working on Kerbal Space Program 2. The delayed project was announced back in 2019, and development is being handled by Star Theory Games, formerly Uber Entertainment. We’ve built a spectacular team at Intercept Games, a team that includes, as previously mentioned, key members from the development team behind the original Kerbal Space Program.”Ĭreative director Nate Simpson also released a video explaining the new release date and the delay, though it didn’t include too much additional information. ![]() “We remain focused on making sure KSP2 performs well on a variety of hardware, has amazing graphics, and is rich with content.
